Ofra Friedland was born in Haifa, Israel in 1959. She is considered today one of the most significant contemporary Israeli artists. Her work encompasses oils, murals, tapestry, ceramics and sculpture.
There are literally hundreds of people all over the world creating images of Jerusalem, the Bible and the Land of Israel. Yet only a few have done a truly magnificent work. One of this rare group is Ofra Friedland, whose mature, inspiring work has achieved international recognition in places as far as Sao Paulo-Brazil or Palm Beach-Florida, Woodmere-NYand Toronto-Canada.
She is described as a “lyricist in color”. Ofra is a master of diverse artistic expression. Her work is loaded with excitement. Scenes with people or famous landmarks express deep feeling and sensitivity. She has gone far beyond individual paintings, murals and even series, by designing complete environments for major venues as the Lincoln Center, luxury hotels in Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem and Antwerp, banks and museums.
